Near the lark's nest, and in their natural hour
Have passed away; less happy than the one
That, by the unrolling ploughshare, died to prove
The tender charm of poetry and love.

Watercolour on Ashrad 200gsm - 12" x 8"
I'm exploring doing some watercolours on textured back-grounds (this one from Boccacino), and find it gives some lovely soft effects. I first of all print out the back-ground on Watercolour paper and, once it's dry, paint over that.
Hi Maree,
ReplyDeleteI love the effect of your daisies on the printed background. Did you do anything to make the background waterfast so the ink wouldn't move while painting the daisies?
Hi Vickie, please you like this, thank you very much! No, I don't do anything else to make it waterfast - once the ink is dry, it doesn't move easily at all! I just love painting on these textured back-grounds, each one turns out so unique!
