About me

This is the real secret of life — to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realise it is play. The only thing that is ultimately real about your journey is the step that you are taking at this moment. That’s all there ever is. I’m here to tell you that the path to peace is right there, when you want to get away. When you are present, you can allow the mind to be as it is without getting entangled in it. If you miss the present moment, you miss your appointment with life. That is very serious!

My favourite outfit

W&N watercolour on Bockingford 300gsm

This used to be one of my favourite outfits. Unfortunately the jacket is all frayed on the cuffs and my little red pumps have seen better days! I find it really difficult to find nice jackets. South Africa is never really cold enough for anything too thick, and this cotton one with a satin lining was just perfect.

  1. IThis is such a charming painting! You portrayed a perfect little story here, with soft lines and colors. Very nicely done! About the jacket, It's just getting good if it's starting to fray on the edges. That's chic! I'll take it, if you don't want it anymore. :)

  3. Cute sketch, Maree. Yes, I am like you, when a favourite piece becomes very old and shabby, I always regret not having bought several at the time!

    1. Thanks Marie. Yes, that's something I also always do and I did buy two, but the other one I gave away when the colour became "unfashionable", which is fashionable again now! Regret that very much!
